Ipod nano accidently deleted my photo files?

on my ipod nano i had photos and didnt know how to delete them so i though maybe you go to the actual ipod folder and delete the photo folder. now i realised i did it wrong and deleted the entire thing now i cant put any photos on my ipod. how do i restore those files because they werent in recycle bin without having to restore my ipod?
