I was using Paint Tool Sai when the power went out. The file I was working with was saved, but it's gone.?

I was working in Paint Tool Sai with a file that had been sitting on my computer for around a month. I had been saving my work periodically then the power suddenly went out. When the power came back on, I went back to work on the file, but it was nowhere to be found. It was saved. I've searched my computer and recycling bin for the file, and I still haven't had any luck finding it. If it truly has vanished is there a way to recover it? I've never had this happen to me before. My other files seem fine.
