Jews - How many wives are you allowed, your Talmud says: "A man may marry wives in addition to his first wife"?

The rabbis outlawed polygamy at some point (I don't remember when), and, in any case, "dina di malkuta dina"--"the laws of the state are our laws." So in the U.S., where polygamy is outlawed, Jews wouldn't practice it even if it were permissible.
